Hitachi C10FCE2 10-Inch Compound Miter SawI saw that Consumer Reports rated this the best compound miter saw (with DeWalt, Hitachi and Craftsman all rated 88 to 93)
but it doesnt seem to get the same traction on amazon relative to the Hitachi or others
any thoughts?

Cannot square the blade

I've read the manual and loosened the two cap screws underneath, aligned the blade, then tighten the two cap screws, but the blade will not stay square. It's off by almost a full degree. When the framing square is flush against the blade, it is angled off the fence by 1/8". It seems like the miter lock handle throws it off every time it is snugged up. This is too frustrating to deal with. I'm going to take it back to Home Depot and buy the DeWalt. I was sucked in by the Ridgid lifetime warranty, but that sounds like a farce from the posts I've read at [...]

Excellent saw. I am in the process of remodeling a house and all I can say is that I love this saw. WORKS GREAT! You can get all sorts of cuts with the wide range of bevel and miter capacities it provides.

I've had this saw about a year now, and am very pleased with it. Cutting mostly softwoods; pine, which the saw handles with ease. The fence rule (mounted tape measurer)works like a charm - - and is accurate down to 1/64 of an inch. No more measuring the fence to blade distance with my tape and guessing how much more to add for the kerf, as with my old Craftsman table saw. The Rigid fence to kerf measurement is spot-on! I really appreciate the collapsability of the unit, as my garage has a lot of tools and floor space is a premium. But I can tuck the Rigid in a spot and occupy a minimum of floor space. I really like this saw!
